The Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (‘BOSTES’) is a statutory authority responsible for the curriculum, assessment, teacher accreditation and regulatory standards in NSW schools (Kindergarten to Year 12). The BOSTES is also responsible for developing policies and initiatives for evaluating and improving student learning performance across all schools and school sectors. The BOSTES was established on 1 January 2014 following the merger of the Board of Studies NSW and the NSW Institute of Teachers.
We are looking for Administration Officer to provide high quality administrative and project support to the Curriculum and Assessment Standards Directorate, stakeholders and external agencies regarding curriculum and assessment projects.
T o be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate your immediate proficiency in the focus capabilities as highlighted in the role description. All the capabilities listed in the role description will be assessed at different stages of the recruitment process. This assessment will determine your suitability for appointment and may assist in identifying any learning and development needs for you to reach your full potential in this role.

Q1 : Describe a recent work situation where you had to manage multiple competing tasks simultaneously. What strategies did you use to prioritise and ensure all tasks were met? How did you include and communicate with those involved? What was the outcome?
Q2: In your most recent role, describe a time where you had to work effectively in a team to achieve a goal or outcome. What role did you play? How did you assure the work produced was of a high quality? Describe some of the challenges and how you overcame them.
Under new employment legislation all current and new Public Service non-executive employees are employed at a classification level and assigned to a role rather than appointed to a position. Employees may be re-assigned to other roles at the same classification over time, in line with organisation priorities and/or personal development plans.
Temporary employments/secondment under sections 43 and 64 of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 for a period of up to 3 years.
