About the business

Corporate Financial Services (CFS) is part of the Business and Private Banking (B&PB) business unit of the Commonwealth Bank. The CFS team serves over 10,000 clients in the medium to large business segment, typically with complex financial needs and turnover >$10m. The division is well placed to provide medium and large companies with access to a wide range of financial services with approximately 750 professionals in approx. 35 locations across Australia.

About the team

The Client Acquisition (CA) team is the new to bank business development group within CFS. The team acts as the conduit for new to bank customers for all financial services. CA's target market is medium to large private companies and small listed companies.

About the role

As an Analyst, you will support the Client Acquisition team in analysing, structuring and modelling complex financing solutions in order to achieve overall team targets and business objectives.

More specifically, you will:
Support transaction teams in house and on client visits

Prepare and presenting pitches to potential clients including board level, business owners and senior management teams

Structure both general industry and property related transactions

Assess the viability of transactions and project managing the execution of transactions.

To help us deliver a better future for Corporate Financial Services, you will:

Have previous experience in considering business and market risk, financial modelling, writing and analysing credit transactions and data analytics.

Have strong commercial acumen, risk management knowledge

Be able to quickly grasp complex transactions, and will ideally have previous 'new to bank' transactional and credit risk experience.

Be analytically minded, and have strong financial/credit analysis skills while having the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Be driven, highly organised and goal orientated with a CAN do attitude, as well as

Have sound relationship management and communication skills.

A tertiary qualification in Business/Finance and/or Commerce would be desirable

This is an outstanding opportunity to get exposure to more complex Corporate Banking deals, work in a strong and successful business, and gain some outstanding exposure to 'new to bank' Corporate Banking deals/clients.
