About the business
Corporate Financial Services (CFS) is part of the Business and Private Banking (B&PB) business unit of the Commonwealth Bank. The CFS team serves over 10,000 clients in the medium to large business segment, typically with complex financial needs and turnover >$10m. The division is well placed to provide medium and large companies with access to a wide range of financial services with approximately 750 professionals in approx. 35 locations across Australia.
About the role
This is a great opportunity to develop a career within Corporate Financial Services.
As Analyst, Strategy you will gather, analyse and interpret data to identify growth opportunities and constraints and recommend innovative, considered and achievable solutions to the challenges faced by the business.
You will leverage CBA's internal processes and technology in order to develop new and improved operational efficiencies, and will maintain close working relationships with various CFS internal stakeholders.
More specifically, you will:
Independently conduct effective, thorough research, data gathering and analysis.
Gain insight from analysis and data interpretation and synthesise results into considered recommendations to support the strategic imperatives of the Leadership Team.
Leverage CBA technology to drive continual improvement across the broader team.
Constantly challenge established practices, including the formulation of new and improved methods of operation.
Have a strong focus on team outcomes, work collaboratively with various internal stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for the CFS team and be motivated to work through complex problems and technical details to find solutions.
Lead and demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience and ethical behaviour, with strong skills in teamwork and stakeholder management

Have a tertiary qualification that encompasses elements of, or relevant experience in one or more of: Business/Commerce, Accounting/Finance, Statistics/Econometrics, or Mathematics
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong modelling skills
Be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Have advanced computer skills, including a profound understanding of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
Be able to work productively as part of the team or independently to meet deadlines.
Demonstrate strong work ethics, curiosity to learn and eagerness to pursue personal development
