About the role

In your new role you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation; cooking and presentation of food to deliver a superior guest experience. You will have a passion for cooking and want to kick start your career as a chef by developing your culinary skills by working in all of our food outlets and experiencing both a la carte & buffet service.

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and presentation of food in line with food and company standards

  • Ensure the consistent delivery of quality, well-presented food to our customers

  • Work effectively within the kitchen brigade to ensure high quality customer service standards

  • Comply with all food, hygiene and safety requirements

  • Undertake any reasonable duties that may be assigned by the Executive Chef or senior chef in the kitchen

  • You will rotate through all kitchens in the hotel including; Catering, Pastry, Cold, Hot and Coal Cellar + Grill

  • Complete all aspects of on the job and off the job training to achieve a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

  • Positive attitude with the ability to take direction

  • Ability to handle high pressure situations

  • Fluent in the English language in order to communicate professionally with guests and team members, both in person and over the telephone

  • A passion for good food and the delivery of an exceptional product

  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service

  • Well-presented and calm personality

  • Willingness to learn

It is essential for you to be able to:
  • Work a variety of shifts including; weekends, days, afternoons and evenings
