We are seeking a dynamic individual to be the voluntary Chair of the Upper Murrumbidgee Catchment Coordinating Committee (UMCCC).
The UMCCC is a community-based network of individuals and representatives from agencies and groups that are responsible for natural resource management in the upper Murrumbidgee catchment. The UMCCC has operated across the region for 25 years and has had a history of leading strategic cross-jurisdictional projects that have had long lasting impact.
Expressions of interest are invited from individuals who have the right skills, experience, values and passion to lead the organisation in delivering outcomes for collaboration in Natural Resource Management in the Upper Murrumbidgee Region. The role of Chair will be filled at the November AGM.
The role of the Chair is to guide implementation of the Strategic Plan, to provide leadership for the organisation, and provide community representation for the ACT & Region Catchment Management Coordination Group. This is a volunteer position for which the time commitment is through quarterly general meetings (daytime) and alternative quarterly executive meetings, as well as involvement in sub-committees and occasional events. This is a great opportunity for those who fit the above criteria to make a difference and gain experience as a Board Chair.
Joining the UMCCC will allow you to actively contribute to the local NRM community and use your expertise and passion to help shape the direction and future success of the Network. The UMCC has a high profile in the region and with recent appointments of the Chair to regional leadership groups, has exciting opportunities.
The requirements of the position include the following:
Membership of UMCCC (new members are eligible)
Ability to attend meetings during business hours
Ability to attend 75% of general meetings (held quarterly), 75% of executive meetings (held quarterly), attendance at the AGM and participation in organisation functions and representative activities when possible.
Ability to lead the UMCCC and work in collaboration with other Executive members for the benefit of the Network
A passion for collaborative NRM
You do not need previous Board experience to apply for this position, although it is desirable.
