The Asset & Pricing Client Service team aligns quality services provided by Asset & Pricing Services (APS) to the needs of our clients by representing APS at the highest level for consumers of our services by learning and anticipating business needs of our clients through collaborative efforts, then engendering the appropriate urgency to all parties involved in service issues and change. The consultant role leads, owns and is ultimately accountable for the client service experience for Northern Trust’s clients.

As the primary client service contact and first point of escalation for clients and internal operations teams, the consultant takes ownership of the issues and will assess, coordinate and manage the issues with the assistance of the relevant internal teams.

The consultant must exhibit an ability to work with, and manage through, other functional areas both locally and globally, to ensure the provision of a timely and efficient level of service excellence.

The consultant must foster close relationship with their clients, both internal and external in order to understand their requirements and expectations and to take accountability for the resolution of issues.

The consultant has a high degree of autonomy in the management of their client base and must be able to exercise reasonable judgment regarding the escalation of issues.


The consultant is the intermediary between both internal and external clients and the Northern Trust asset pricing and asset coding teams. Full accountability for the service delivery relationship with their assigned clients, including but not limited to:

  • Client Presentations & Sales Support

  • RFPs

  • Client Meetings, defined in engagements

  • Client Pricing Onboarding

  • Support new & existing client implementations

  • SLA definition/review between Asset & Pricing Services and the client

  • Assist Asset & Pricing Services with communication with the client

  • Quarterly check ins with key clients on Asset & Pricing Services concerns

  • Escalation for key client issues

  • Global query resolution model with client fact sheets

  • Determine any new requirements in relation to Asset & Pricing Services for existing clients

  • A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred.

  • More technically sound in area of expertise with broader knowledge of other areas.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change

  • Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.

  • Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees.

  • Extremely strong interpersonal skills

  • Highly articulate with good communication skills

  • Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficient
