Currently we are assisting our client in sourcing a DevOps Specialist to assist them on a 6 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work in a highly visible role and really make a difference. You will be liasing and promoting compromise between senior management, developers and support engineers both locally and internationally to find the best way to automate the process of software delivery and infrastructure changes.

As the successful DevOps Specialist you:

    • Will be working with the team to understand and anticipate infrastructure needs.
    • Be required to create an environment where development, QA, testing and production can be carried out efficiently.
    • Define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management.
    • Enable Developers and Operations to build and deploy applications from code to multiple environments quickly and rapidly.
    As the successful Dev Ops Specialist you must have:
    • Previous experience supporting developers and testers through the provision of infrastructure.
    • Experience maintaining and enhancing continuous integration/ delivery systems.
    • Sound knowledge and experience working with AWS and how to maximize its usage.
    • Experience working with automation tools such as Puppet, OpsWorks, Chefs and etc.
    • The ability to reasearch and implement new technologies to assist with automation.
    Ideally you will have:
    • AWS Certification.
    • Red Hat RHCE certified.
    • Microsoft MCSA or MCSE.
    • The ability to write complex scripts in Shell, Python, PHP.
    • Experience with Java, C, C++, Java and/or Ruby.
    • Java Application Server administration and tunning experience with Tomcat, Websphere and/or Tornado.
