Executive Assistant to General Manager, St George Business Banking

The role of Executive Assistant is responsible for all administrative support to the General Manager, Business Banking, St George Banking Group. Day to day responsibilities include managing the GM’s diary, correspondence, travel and assisting in scheduling and preparing for meetings and events.

Given the nature of position, it is a key requirement that the Executive Assistant discharges his or her duties to the highest standards of professionalism and maturity, including maintaining strict confidentiality in relation to all matters. Flexibility in regards to work schedule and longer hours is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

Executive Support

  • Be first point of contact for the General Manager, Business Banking
  • Manage the GM’s phone calls and incoming correspondence, redirecting questions and issues where appropriate and/or drafting acknowledgement or response letters.
  • Proactively manage the GM diary, including scheduling meetings, prioritising conflicting needs and ensuring time is appropriately available for critical meetings and issues.
  • Work closely with the GM to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments, following up as appropriate.
  • Ensure the GM has relevant and appropriate documentation in advance of meetings and events.
  • Ensure requests/action items for the GM are proactively followed up and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating 1:1, coaching sessions and performance reviews for all direct reports, and ensuring relevant paperwork is submitted on time.
  • Arrange complex and detailed domestic and international travel plans, itineraries and agendas for the GM.
  • Manage ad hoc requests and/or projects from the GM, as required.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience operating at the Executive Assistant level.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to communicate with the highest levels of tact and diplomacy.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and to demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism at all times.
  • Able to effectively work across all levels of the organisation and to work closely and effectively with other Executive Assistants.
  • Excellent written communication.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of initiative.
  • Strong organisational skills demonstrated by the ability to work autonomously, effectively prioritise and perform multiple tasks seamlessly, and with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced level of skill using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
