What is the opportunity?
You are responsible for the management of the Capital Markets (CM) IT Services within the Sydney office enabling technology to support their products and services. This position provides management and leadership for the Sydney IT. The position understands company Operating Philosophy and is responsible for overall IT service delivery, resource mgmt. and providing strong IT Governance and Risk/Controls to help promoted continued growth in Sydney. You must have application support experience in one of the following areas (Fixed Income or Equity) in an Investment banking Environment.
What will you need to do?
Working with Business in creating a business aligned IT plan. Drive the adoption and execution of plan.
Trouble Shoot and maintain Electronic trading connectivity.
Responsible for life-cycle support for applications based in RBC CM Sydney.
Promotes innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implements best practices.
Work with multiple vendors to support different Applications (ION, Reuters, Bloomberg, ESpeed, Yield Broker, BTEC, IRESS, Fidessa)
Work with BCM Regional lead in implementing IT DR/BCP plan/testing annually
Ensures operational stability of all IT supporting the Sydney businesses. Work within Sydney and regional resources to provide high levels of support to Front and Back office in Sydney.
What you need to succeed?
More than 8 years of experience in an investment banking environment.
University degree in Finance, computer science, engineering or equivalent.
Good technology skills and experience in the areas of data centres, networks, telecoms, storage, servers, database and desktops.
Strong understanding of Capital Markets in either Fixed Income. FX or Equity.
Good understanding of support in a trade-floor environment.
Strong skills in change management and incident management.
People management and lead experience.
Some project management skills.
Nice to have:
Excellent interpersonal skills and networking abilities with business leaders
Project Management certification
