Purpose of Role:
State Street’s (STT) Middle Office service is a rapidly growing business globally and in the APAC region. As a result of a new client win, STT is looking to bring on a talented operations business professional to be part of their Transitions and Data Management Team, responsible for static data as it relates to transition activity and normal trading operations of our clients.
Be part of a global team on a market leading product that interacts with multiple internal STT parties globally in identifying issues and managing to completion.
The position will support and provide Oversight of multiple client’s referential data, including security master and portfolio data. It also provides daily production support for the client’s trading process, including initial equity and fixed income security setup, portfolio setup and maintenance, security valuation, mortgage factor and variable rate maintenance, and general security master file integrity.
Interact and provide support to numerous departments within the organization to ensure that all data elements are maintained in an accurate and timely manner. Teams include Portfolio Control, Trade Settlement, Security Master and Business Support.
Complete the day to day responsibilities of the team within a strong risk and control environment that minimizes incidents and errors
Completion of the review and verification of the staff's work on a daily basis, enforcing stringent procedures and controls
Perform an oversight role for the Shared Services functions identifying operational trends, issues and areas for improvement
Own the research and resolution of issues involving all operational and various IT areas (e.g. Asset Servicing, Trade Operations, Account Transitions, COACS)
Conduct high-level analysis in specific areas of expertise, identify and resolve work-processing issues, make suggestions to streamline operations
Approve documented workflow, procedures and controls, determining impact of activity to other areas
Make proactive recommendations and solutions for problem resolution
Interface with senior level internal and external parties and other departments on complex matters and inquiries
Liaise with colleagues within the Australia, USA, UK and India State Street offices and divisions globally where required for query resolution
Act as the point at which relevant client queries relating to the Recordkeeping system and client file deliveries are tracked, with proactive management to ensure timely response and resolution
Assist in the set up and transition process of new client accounts
Support and provide analysis for Client Change Request items impacting the Enterprise processes and Operating Models
Ad-hoc reporting, including daily, weekly and monthly metrics
Level of Education:
Degree in finance, business, technology or equivalent or relevant industry experience
Previous Level of Experience:
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, or technology or equivalent work experience in finance or accounting
Must have previous experience in security set-up within a Funds Management or Custodian organization, with exposure to a wide range of instruments
Broad and in-depth understanding of the asset management industry, gained through working with an asset manager or custodian, including detailed knowledge on all types of financial instruments
Broad and in-depth understanding of standards, methodologies, processes, systems and technology necessary to support investment management operations
Experience with writing and reviewing business specifications, procedures, operating models, etc.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to analyze quickly
Skills - interpersonal, numerical, problem-solving, analytical, etc.
Strong written and communication skills to people at all levels
Must be self-motivated, adaptable and show initiative in different circumstances and under pressure
Ability to work well in a team
Flexibility in working outside of your responsibilities and areas of expertise
Excellent analytical skills and ability to analyze
PC literate – Strong Word and Excel skills necessary
