About the Role
We are currently seeking bright, happy, kind and enthusiastic people to join our team on a permanent full time or permanent part-time basis, in the role of Lifestyle Assistant. Our bright and inviting Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Plus Centre offers a broad spectrum of aged care accommodation options, including short term respite and secure dementia care, and is located just minutes away from Brighton Le Sands, only 20 minutes from Sydney City. This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of recreational programs for our residents to promote their psychological, social, and physical wellbeing.
To be successful in this role you will have:
An understanding, empathy, appreciation and ability to promote the values and ethos of The Salvation Army
Demonstrated knowledge of aged care and importance of recreational aid in aged care facilities
Proven ability to monitor and review recreational needs of aged residents
Positive outlook - enthusiastic and able to use initiative to create positive experiences for residents
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Able to communicate well with residents, families and other employees, including to sensitively explore resident needs or encourage resident participation
Proven leadership skills
Committed team player with the ability to work independently
Current First Aid Certificate
Certificate III in Aged Care
Cert IV in Lifestyle and Leisure is desirable
