Working at the Department of Health is about making a difference.The Prevention Division delivers policies, programs, services and regulatory functions that aim to improve the health of the Queensland population by promoting and protecting health and wellbeing, detecting and preventing disease and injury; and supporting high quality health care service delivery.The role: Reporting to the Director, Cancer Screening Unit, you will provide strategic leadership in the areas of system-wide planning, strategy development, policy development, policy analysis, policy evaluation, strategy evaluation, research, monitoring and reporting. You will also coordinate and provide high-level leadership for the processes of preventive health planning, policy development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation as well as lead collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders and partners.

The successful person: You will be an expert in applying knowledge, expertise and skills to complex contemporary health promotions and public health professional practices, while functioning as a state-wide preventative health policy resource.
