Well established not-for-profit organisation within the health industry is seeking a Media/PR and Campaign Adviser to join their dynamic team. You will develop and drive their consumer and healthcare professional media and public relations campaign strategies and optimise message delivery of these campaigns and other programs through selected media outlets. You will also promote the business and their major programs, review and critically analyse major media issues relating to the agency and identify major media opportunities while contributing to the development and implementation of strategic media initiatives. A key part of this role will be the development and implementation of a schedule of high profile campaigns throughout the year, and to develop themes, concepts, educational materials, activations and events, digital content and media materials to support these campaigns. You will look after crisis and issues management by building proactive media relationships to support their campaigns and overall strategy. You will also provide advice where required on media issues and overall media strategy, and contribute to other parts of the Corporate Affairs team including corporate communications, government relations and stakeholder relations.
Tertiary qualified in a relevant PR/journalism/communications discipline, you will present with a strong background in media/PR in a relevant role within an agency or in-house. You will present with demonstrable experience in identifying potential critical issues and preparing appropriate media strategies for high profile and sensitive media issues for diverse audiences. Essential for this role is the ability to produce accurate and effective material while meeting critical deadlines and proven experience in developing, coordinating and implementing effective proactive public relations or media strategies. A proven high achiever in public relations, media management, strategy and development, you have the ability to build networks with media and stakeholders and a demonstrated ability to simplify complex messages for diverse audiences. You will have proven experience in developing, implementing and evaluating innovative PR and communication strategies and be confident managing key stakeholder at all levels. You will be an experienced PR/Media professional with solid project management and time management skills and possess highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience working in a not-for-profit/health or government environment will be highly regarded. This is an initial 3 month contract, ideally to start immediately however there will be permanent opportunities for the right candidate.
