A self starting, intelligent personality you will require a keen eye for detail and be able to think outside the box, as you will be required to complete data verification, document checks, apply legislation and policy.

In this role you will be:

- Assisting in the production, scanning, printing and processing of documents in accordance with departmental regulations, guidelines, instructions and procedures.

- As part of a team, interviewing applicants, undertaking cashier duties; carrying out data entry and verification, scanning and printing documents and conducting quality assurance.

- Sorting and opening incoming mail

- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing with colleagues, members of the public and other relevant authorities such as Australia Post and other government agencies.

- Organising workloads to complete tasks to a high level of accuracy, in a timely manner and within the applicable benchmarks.

- Use computer based technology to crop images and check applications

You must be able to:

Undertake administrative duties, processing tasks and effectively use office technology and basic computer applications.

Prioritise and organise workloads, meeting deadlines and achieving office productivity benchmarks.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to deal sensitively, courteously and equitably with members of the public, colleagues and other stakeholders

Take initiative, work under pressure and respond to challenges. Ability to build productive working relationships, including the provision of quality professional service to clients.

Meeting key performance indicators and completing low level administrative tasks.

This position provides the opportunity to secure a contract role with this highly sought after internationally focused department.

Employment in the department is dependent on an employee having a valid security clearance. Loss of a security clearance at any time will lead to termination of employment.
