The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Senior Claims Analyst to provide in-depth analytical support to develop a team of Claims Assessors in our Retail Claims team, based at our Head Office on St Kilda Road. This is an exciting permanent role, reporting to the Retail Claims Team Leader.
As the Senior Claims Analyst you will be responsible for coaching Claims Assessors and providing guidance, adequate up-skilling and development. Working collaboratively with the team Leader and Claims Development Manager you will ensuring an effective and efficient assessment of claims including Term Life/Death, Total Permanent Disablement, Trauma and Income Protection. You will also manage a reduced claims portfolio including complex claims, while supporting Claims Assessors with cases requiring liaison with the Internal Dispute Resolution Committee or Legal counsel. This role will provide you an opportunity to build relationships with clients, advisers and doctors and ensure there is a close and productive working relationship with the Claims Development team where skills learnt are transferred into the workplace.

The Person
Right now you may be working in a similar Claims Assessor role with exceptional analytical and creative problem solving skills gained across Life insurance or related industry. You will be passionate about coaching, mentoring and the claims management model with high levels of product, claims, medical terminology, and system and legislation knowledge. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail will see you excel in this role. A tertiary qualification in business, insurance, finance, marketing or legal, alternatively, financial planning qualifications is desirable.
