The purpose of the role is to provide robust commercial financial analytics and recommendations to management that will ensure our business is well positioned to capitalise on value creation opportunities, in addition to maintaining and preserving existing business value for TCCC’s Still Portfolio.
Key outcomes this role will deliver are:
Ensure Portfolio Product Commercialisation is underpinned by robust financial vetting process that ensures we are investing company time and resources in categories that will provide strong sustainable profit growth
Ensure internal controls underpin all commercial finance activities
This role ensures that the company is positioned to benefit from superior sustainable growth opportunities, whilst maintaining existing value share, supported by robust financial analytics in accordance with company standard practice and procedures.
Specific Responsibilities Or Work To Be Done
1 Drive financial analysis for NPD and Commercialization
Product commercialisation assessment (NPD, Line extensions, Pack innovation), achieved through strong understanding of commercialisation process, internal system requirements and guidelines
Financial modelling and risk analysis, negotiation and communication of results to management; Ensure company resources and efforts are channelled towards areas with adequate ROI
Recalibrate beverage base pricing for all NPD’s in accordance with annual true-up process
Provide decision support and for Marketing initiatives
Provide insight to CCSP Management of the drivers of CCA costs and impact to System Economics
2 Lead reconciliation of Bottler Sales and Demand Plans and CCSP MAU Concentrate shipments for all new NPD’s in accordance with Pacific Group Innovation Council approved guidelines
Monitoring Orders of concentrate/bev base - monitor agreed orders with pre-approved NPD plan. Liaise with supply point and SP Controllers Group to identify and report on any changes made to original plan. Investigate variances to plan, provide explanations and obtain management approval to proceed with revised order. Communicate approval to supply point.
Monitoring Sales Forecast - measure sales forecast against NPD plan on a 3 and 6 month process, taking into account pipeline, trial and repeat volume. Evaluate if revisions are necessary. Evaluate potential expiry risk of ingredients, beverage base, finished products on hand. Formal post launch review sign off by Business Unit GM and Finance Director.
Tracking profitability – maintain scorecard to highlight key performance indicators such as Volume, NSR, GP, ROI and EBIT.
3 Drive Commercial Business Analysis & Decision Support / Benchmarking
Financial decision support resource for the South Pacific Division, utilising financial skills, i.e. Financial modelling, ‘what if’, DCF, Breakeven, ROI.
Ensure that investments and resources are optimally allocated and achieve adequate acceptable company ROI. Examples include Revenue Mgt activities, assisting with M&A Due Diligence as required, evaluating commercial opportunities within brand teams, i.e. evaluate financial impact of growth /change proposals optimal pricing, pack, channel strategy for brand ‘x’.
Ensure Key Account terms and other Marketing / non Marketing DFR customer contractual obligations are reported in accordance with Company’s policy
Ensure timely DFR non marketing (excluding Freight) analysis is prepared and reviewed
Identify risk and opportunities related to DFR (excluding Freight)
4 Drive improved effectiveness and efficiency of spend
Set up and maintain standard set of budget DMI ROI metric targets
Ensure rigorous pre-post financial / ROI analysis of major campaigns, sharing findings with manager, marketing managers and teams
Provide financial support and guidance to the Purchase and Procurement Manager in developing commercial strategies, conducting supplier negotiations, and marketing supplier performance tracking
Proactively develop, quantify and execute commercial opportunities in key categories of DME spend (agencies, promotions, assets, etc)
5 Bottler Relationship
Functional ownership of agreed CCA/CCSP financial framework and NPD Guidelines, Participate in negotiations with CCA in all Commercial Finance issues relating to NPD projects and other relevant projects
Ensure compliance in all transactions and recommend improvements to CCSP management when and where necessary
Engage and build collaborative relationships with Bottler and other functions to identify key risks or opportunities
6 Support LT Planning, ABP and RE Planning processes
Ensure accurate and timely forecasting and budgeting of DFR (marketing and non marketing) expenditure
Support the business with Strategy Business Plan by Categories / Brands
Undertake analysis as required by manager / business
7 Business NPD & Commercialization related finance support for Brand and Operational Marketing Teams
Prepare value chains for NPD, line extensions, relevant packaging modifications providing financial recommendation
Prepare financial analysis for Packaging relating NPD’s and ensure value at bare minimum is preserved.
Initiate and support relevant teams with Beverage Base Optimisation / Target Costing, SKU Rationalisation
Support marketing / finance team with system profitability by pack, flavour, brand
Adhoc analysis and reporting for Marketing Managers
8 Drive / Monitor Operating Agreements
Work with relevant business partner on Operating Agreements such as Pump Water, Powerade Fuel+, Nestea and Neverfail
Agree and track metrics to measure performance of such agreements
Ensure applicable true ups are calculated and booked according to Company’s policy
9 Work with Marketing Assets Manager
Undertake due diligence including RFA preparation for any long term > 1 year marketing sponsorships
Agree and track metrics to measure performance of marketing assets
Ensure payments to Sponsors, chargeback’s to CCA, etc are undertaken in line with contractual obligations

Qualifications & Experience required:
+5 -7 years of work experience in a commercial environment (preferably with exposure within FMCG environment)
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economic , CA/CPA preferred
