Risk Management is responsible for developing the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite.
Within Risk Management, Wealth Risk Management Colonial First State (WRMCFS) is the designated risk management function of Colonial First State (CFS). WRMCFS acts as a trusted advisor to CFS on all risk related matters and also performs all Line 2 function in accordance with Group requirements.
About your role
Reporting to the Executive Manager, your role as Senior Risk Manager will provide critical support to the Business on risk related matters and perform Line 2 functions in accordance with the CBA Group requirements. The role carries responsibility for leading a small WRMCFS team on regulatory reform and the regulatory change process, as well as policy and framework management and the facilitation of prudential reviews and risk attestations.
More specifically, your main duties will include:
Supporting the Executive Manager WRMCFS, in owning the day to day relationship with CFS;
Leading a team of risk professionals'
Preparing reports for CFS, committees and boards;
Developing, promoting and / or implementing the risk framework, including Risk Appetite Statement, Risk Management Strategy and policies;
Provide objective review and challenge of the data captured within RiskInSite and other data and information used in the decision making processes within CFS;
Attending certain Business forums and committees and partner with CFS to implement the Group's risk management frameworks;
Partnering with CFS and Group risk colleagues on projects and initiatives that affect the broader businesses;
Issues and incidents management and overseeing financial loss data;
Ensuring breaches are identified and reported to the regulators in a timely fashion;
Advising CFS on new initiatives and the risks involved, as well as risks relevant to its business e.g. outsourcing risk;
Partnering CFS to develop risk profiles and risk framework artefacts generally; and
Coordinating and undertaking Line 2 controls testing.
We are seeking a motivated individual with:
Strong experience in Operational Risk Management and/or Compliance frameworks;
Financial services risk experience and/or Big 4 consulting background is desirable;
Ability to lead and manage a team of risk professionals;
Senior stakeholder management experience and strong influencing skills;
Experience in funds / investment management would be beneficial;
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal;
Advanced presentation skills to varying audiences;
Strong organisational and time management skills to co-ordinate multiple projects at once;
Undergraduate qualifications in either Law, Finance, Economics or Accounting; and
Relevant Graduate Diploma or Masters qualifications including in Risk or Governance is desirable.
