The Opportunity

Currently we have a fantastic opportunity for a Vendor Delivery Manager to join our progressive organisation in our IT & PMO function based in our Melbourne office leading a team of 5. The Vendor Delivery Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with all external vendors that provide Technical Solutions and related services to AIA Australia, ensuring that each Vendor complies with their contractual obligations along with leading and developing your team. You will work closely with vendors and AIA Australia initiatives to establish knowledge of vendor products and provide considered input to scope management, resource allocation, scheduling and expectation management.

You will also be responsible for leading the Vendor Delivery Team to assist initiatives in successful delivery of vendor solutions that satisfy business requirements and are delivered to time, cost and quality standards. The Vendor Delivery Manager will also provide technical guidance and team leadership through coaching and mentoring of direct reports and will guide team efforts toward effective delivery of all vendor initiatives. You will act as the key point of contact for impacted business areas concerning their vendor application support needs. Work with them on the prioritization of requests, scheduling those requests, and ensuring completion by the appropriate vendor. Another key component is working closely with projects and our technical teams to coordinate the supply of vendor resources that meets the required demands of the initiatives being worked on, along with this you will also take a lead role in environment management and deployment activities to ensure the relevant vendor solutions are deployed and tested to appropriate quality levels.

You will come from a solid background working in software development projects with exposure to Java, IBM, Websphere, DB2 and AS400. You will have knowledge and experience in a number of software languages along with well refined skills on team leadership. You will be a proactive thinker and someone who can solve for problems in an efficient manner with well refined skills in stakeholder management. Exposure to the financial services sector would be advantageous however resilience and the ability to ensure initiatives are delivered is important.
